Photography has this magical ability to weave together our moments and our memories. Oftentimes, holding a photograph in your hand can transport you back in the same way as when you hear an old song.

A Sunny Senior Session.

April 20, 2023

This time of year can be so bittersweet for many high school seniors and their families. This monumental time comes with a that mixed bag of enormous feelings.

While some are celebrating that they survived and never have to go back again (that may or may not have been my experience), others may have a harder time letting that part of their lives go. What a beautiful thing if you get to be part of the latter.

No matter what, I will always love creating photos during this year for them because I know these will become a part of their story. Once that cap and gown are tucked away and the next chapter begins, time somehow decides to go in hyperspeed. One day, you look up and realize just how much time has passed, and then you find those photos.

Looking through them, you’re able to remember all the little things about that year.

You get to remember all the little things about you before life refined your edges.

For this shoot, we were so worried about the rain, but it seemed to decide at the last minute to mimic her beautiful personality. The sunshine was perfect!

Although the yellow dress was my favorite, I loved all of these! I hope she looks back and smiles when she thinks about us running all over that place and being so excited the sun was shining.

Wishing you the best! You’re going to go far and you’re going to be great!
